One Year After Melanoma Diagnosis

It's been just over a year since we found out Dad had melanoma. We then waited another month until he had the first PET scan It's been such an up and down year due to it and the other health issues that were discovered during that time. He's been through double pneumonia, three heart cath procedures, infusions every 3 weeks for the melanoma, and a host of rashes and infections.

We watched him go from a vibrant, energetic, on-the-go man, to one who was on oxygen, using a cane and, at times, barely able to walk.  He didn't start getting back to his "old self" until after the 4th heart cath procedure.

To see him now, one would not know there was anything wrong with him. And, for the most part, there isn't. His most recent PET scan was done on January 10, 2020. I'm so happy to report that there is "no evidence of active disease!"

He continues the infusion therapy every three weeks until the end of 2020. He also has his regular follow-up appointments with the cardiologist and his regular doctor. He's feeling and looking better. And, he's back to work, which makes him very happy.

Our journey continues, but with a much better outlook than this time last year. Thank you for your continued prayers and well wishes.
